The present geographic areas of the Lutheran Development Service in Liberia are Bong, Lofa and Margibi Counties. The Lutheran Development Service in Liberia is working in Kakata and Gibi Districts in Margibi County; Salayea and Zorzor Districts in Lofa County; Sanoyea, Zota Fuamah, Salala, Suakoko, Jorquelleh, and Kpaai Districts in Bong County providing services in the areas of agriculture and food security, infrastructure, water and sanitation, capacity building, microfinance for empowerment, emergency response and risk reduction.
During the outbreak of the Ebola crisis, LDS extended services to additional counties to include Montserrado, Grand Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties in order to extend services to wider coverage of the Ebola victims. During that time, on behalf of the Liberia ACT Forum, LDS implemented ACT Appeal LBR 141 and 151 in 2014 and 2015 respectively to cater to victims of the Crisis.
